Geneva 2026 High-Level Week

AI is rapidly reshaping the world as we know it, making the move from principles to practice more urgent than ever. Despite the proliferation of normative consensus, ongoing implementation deficits and uneven organizational readiness signal the need for clearer, evidence‑based implementation strategies and a more integrated ecosystem able to convert values into real‑world impact.

On 6-10 July 2026, the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum took place in Geneva, co-convened by International Telecommunication Union (ITU), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The WSIS Forum is a world’s central multistakeholder convening platform for shaping digital cooperation toward an inclusive, trusted, and human-centered future, bringing together global leaders from across international organizations, governments, the private sector, civil society, technical communities, and academia this time from 177 countries. The 2026 Forum took place alongside the inaugural Global Dialogue on AI Governance and AI for Good, which we also attended and contributed to discussions shaping the next era of AI.

At the Forum, Zhu Consulting organized a panel titled “Anchoring AI Evolution in Humanity: Pathways for Ethical, Inclusive, and Cross‑Boundary Collaboration” in ITU HQ, as part of our advisory "AI for Humanity". This intersectoral panel discussion brought together leading voices intersecting technology, governance, and society to examine actionable pathways for responsible AI implementation and new ways of cross-boundary collaboration, contributing to the advancement of normative principles such as the Global Digital Compact, WSIS Action Lines (C10 and C11), and UNESCO recommendations. Beyond value principles, this discussion outlined key challenges and 8 practical recommendations listeners can take away to inform more effective AI adoption and partnerships, drawing insights from the latest leading best practices and frontier research.
